About the NEDSO

Who We Are

We’re not a typical league — and we’re proud of that.

The New England Deaf Softball Organization (NEDSO) was built to bring Deaf players, CODAs, SODAs, and supporters together the old-school way: on dirt, with bats, gloves, and heart.

We’re here for the ones who’ve been overlooked.

For the ones who never had a league that truly saw them.

And for every player who still believes this game means something.

It’s not about fame.

It’s about legacy.

This isn’t just softball —

It’s Deaf softball. And it’s back.

Our Mission

To unite, empower, and celebrate the Deaf community through the game that brings us together: softball.

We do it by:

• Creating real opportunities — on and off the field — for Deaf players, CODAs, SODAs, and allies to compete, connect, and belong.

• Promoting teamwork, toughness, and pride — the kind that runs deeper than stats.

• Honoring the culture, identity, and legacy of Deaf athletes across New England — and building something future generations will be proud of.

Because this isn’t just about sports.

It’s about bringing back what was ours — and making it stronger.

What We Do

NEDSO brings Deaf softball back to life with regional round-robin tournaments, high-stakes Commissioner’s Challenge matchups, and a one-of-a-kind postseason finale known as The Gauntlet — where survival, not just skill, crowns the champion.

Every event is more than just a game —

it’s a statement.

We’re here to:

• Fuel connection and keep our community close — on and off the field.

• Give Deaf athletes a real platform to compete, lead, and shine.

• Build bridges between players, families, allies, and future partners who believe in what we’re building.

This is where passion meets purpose.

This is where Deaf softball lives again.

Our Vision

We see more than just games —

We see a future where Deaf athletes, families, and supporters stand shoulder to shoulder, bound by pride and a love for softball.

Through NEDSO, we’re building a legacy:

• A league that creates real opportunities.

• A movement that inspires the next generation.

• A community that celebrates Deaf talent — loud, proud, and unstoppable.

This isn’t just our vision.

It’s our mission in motion.

Why Softball?

Because softball is more than a game —

It’s a stage where Deaf pride, community, and talent come alive.

It’s competitive. It’s accessible. And it brings people together in ways that nothing else can.

At NEDSO, softball becomes the bridge — between Deaf and hearing, rookies and vets, cities and generations.

It gives our athletes a place to express themselves, connect through the culture, and leave it all on the field.

This is our sport. This is our voice. This is why we play.
