HE’S BACK. AND HE’S BRINGING SOMETHING WITH HIM.

Updated: Apr 13

"The storm is here. Scott Simpson Jr. returns."
"The storm is here. Scott Simpson Jr. returns."

Scott Simpson Jr. doesn’t need an introduction.

Former NEAAD MVP. Softball tactician. Quiet leader with a clutch gene you can’t teach.

He was the kind of player you remembered — and the kind of teammate you never forgot.

But like all legends… there came a silence.

Life pulled him in other directions. The cleats hit the shelf.

And for years, the game missed his name in the lineup.

Until now.

THE RETURN

“I saw my friend putting a lot of effort into something, and if there was something I could do to help it be a success, I wanted to do it.”

That was Scott’s first sentence when asked why he’s coming back.

Not fame. Not nostalgia.

But loyalty. Brotherhood. Purpose.

He’s not just stepping back on the field — he’s stepping back into the community.

And he’s not coming to coast. He’s coming to build.

THE MINDSET SHIFT

“Not much has changed,” he admits. “Except I’m probably a little slower and less aggressive now haha.”

But make no mistake — experience is a weapon.

And Scott’s bringing plenty of it.

“I think I can help organize things, help the league and teams be successful, and share what I’ve learned about the game over the years.”

The same instincts that once earned him MVP are now going toward mentoring the next wave.

Leadership in the dugout. Guidance on the field. Wisdom in every swing.

“You only get so many opportunities to prove you have the clutch gene,” he said.

And if you’ve seen Scott in a big moment — you know that gene is still alive.

THE REGION & THE REIGN

Scott now represents a different home base — suiting up for Northern Reign, the team that spans Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

“What’s cool about it is I’m in a new area than in the past, so it’s something new,” he shared.

“But I’m still proud to represent it.”

A fresh start. A new color. Same killer instinct.

DJT + SCOTT = NO-FLY ZONE?

When we asked DJT about the rumors of Scott’s return, his response was instant:

“It’s the No-Fly Zone — better keep those balls low.
Tough to gain extra bases on us like you would on other teams.”

Scott’s reaction?

“Outfield is definitely a team effort.
If we got to play together again, I think that would be so much fun.
Our styles together? Hard to duplicate or compete with.”

Two veterans. One outfield.

If it happens?

Lock the skies. The ball’s not landing.

ON NEDSO & THE FUTURE

“I think NEDSO has tons of potential. I’m impressed with the effort the commissioner is putting into it,” Scott said.

“It could end up being something successful — it just takes belief. Most people won’t take a risk or a jump to achieve something. His effort speaks for itself, and I think I can help it be successful.”

Spoken like a man who knows what it means to build something that lasts.

A MESSAGE TO THE NEXT GENERATION

“This game is so much fun, and you’ll be hooked before you know it.”

Simple. True. Timeless.

Scott isn’t just back to compete — he’s back to pass it on.

AND TO AN OLD FRIEND…

When asked if he had a message for Dale Collette Jr., another legend rumored to return:

“I remember Dale well. I’d encourage him to play and have fun… like the good ol’ days.
Part of what makes softball great is the community.”

SO WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SCOTT SIMPSON JR. IN 2026?

“Someone with leadership qualities, who’s just happy to play the game with others… and share what I can.”

No fluff. No ego. Just presence.

He’s not back for attention. He’s back for impact.

Scott Simpson Jr. has re-entered the world of Deaf softball.

And NEDSO will never be the same.
